Middle School

Who says my daughter's bored in "Computer Power"? Who?

This is an elective which fills part of the year. She's really interested in the other half, which is a multi-media art class. But for right now, I keep hearing stories about how boring it is to be learnng about cut-and-paste, filling in field data, and other fairly elementary stuff.

Judging from the cover of her "Computer Power" folder, reproduced below, there's not much going on in class. (But I like her dragons--she's a Naomi Novik fan now too.) (COOL! Check out the website--the series has been optioned by Peter Jackson!! Yay!)

Yeah, and she's eleven.

::shakes head in disbelief::

I guess that's what happens when you spend many hours up in your room drawing while your parents ask, "When are you going to go outside in the fresh air?"

She's a neat kid, my daughter.

Hey...there's a unicorn on top of the person's (?) head! Cool! I used to have talent...it left, darn it! Probably from my parents making me get fresh air. LOL

That's such a cool picture. I used be talented too. I can still doodle horses though. :P

Hopefully your daughter keeps it up!

Psst, tell her to pay attention to the computer stuff so she can get a job in the digital arts field - she can make loads of money and then if she wants to stay true to her art she can do that also ;)

Cindy, I think that's half the problem.

She reeeeally wants to learn about digital art, web design, and HTML. That's not this course.

The community college near us has classes for Middle Schoolers over the summer--I've got to get her into one on digital art this year.
